This week I have been working at the advertising agency Union Direct. I have been set a couple of creative briefs to go through and I develop them each day. The first one I was set was to design a campaign around the smoking legislation that came in along with the smoking ban. The legal age to purchase cigarettes had risen from 16 years old to 18 years old.
I came up with ideas to use the 18-rated symbol on the back of bus tickets on Lothian Buses. The tag line would be something to do with the new legislation and would be simply stated next to the symbol. The idea being that the symbol would act as an attention grabber to the children aged between 13-16 years old as it is associated with activities that are ‘forbidden’ to them so likely to intrigue them.
